Bengals vs Browns injury report: Limited Cam Sample, Jadeveon Clowney still DNP

The weekend is just around the corner and the Cincinnati Bengals have stepped up to the plate to prepare for the Cleveland browns.

The 53 Bengals trained in one form or another on Thursday afternoon. Trey Hopkins (rest) and Cam Sample (knee) were not participants on Wednesday, but both were limited for the team’s second practice of the week.

Chris Evans (hamstrings) and Auden Tate (thigh) were also limited, just as they were on Wednesday. Jackson Carman (returning) trained without limits for the second day in a row.

With a game to play before the bye, the Bengals are on track to fill their inactive roster with only healthy scratches. We’ll see if Evans and Tate eventually get the nod to play, but things are heading in the right direction for them to play from now on.

The Browns have also seen an increase in training participation. No, they haven’t allowed Odell Beckham Jr. to return, but a few of their players have trained more than Wednesday.

DT Malik Jackson (ankle), S John Johnson III (neck), WR Jarvis Landry (knee) and DT Malik McDowell (disease) were each limited on Thursday after completely missing practice on Wednesday. DE Takkarist McKinley (groin) was a full participant after not practicing the day before.

Everyone but two players on their injury report practiced the same number as on Wednesday. This includes DE Jadeveon Clowney (ankle / knee / hip) not training for the second day in a row.

C JC Tretter (knee) and TE Harrison Bryant (thigh) are the exceptions. Tretter was unable to train Thursday after being limited on Wednesday, and Bryant was limited despite being a full participant on Wednesday. It’s not good for the two players as they prepare for Sunday, but we’ll see what Cleveland lists them as tomorrow.
