Labor takes over Tory homepage with ‘partygate’ ads

Britain’s Labor Party has targeted Tory supporters with ‘partygate’ ads in an ad takeover of the Tory webpage.

In response to new lockdown party fines, the publication of Sue Gray’s report and a photo of Boris Johnson surrounded by bottles of wine, Labor has flooded the Conservative blog with subversive adverts.

Now, around the Tory House editorial content is an image of a mask-wearing nurse with the copy, “Look her in the eye and tell her you’re still supporting Boris Johnson.”

The adverts are a play on the January 2021 Government TV advert, created by MullenLowe, which read: ‘Can you look them in the eye and tell them you are helping by staying at home?’

Labor’s advertising takeover was revealed in a Twitter post by Daily Mirror political editor Pippa Crerar, who wrote: ‘Labour bought all the advertising on the conservative website Home – the online bible Conservative members…over the next few years. days and that’s what readers will see”.

Conservative Home is a right-wing blog independent of the Conservative Party. In response to Crerar, Conservative Home chief executive Mark Wallace joked: “Even the Labor Party agrees that advertising on Conservative Home is the best way to reach the most influential political audiences. Advertisements (of all kinds customers) help make our top-flight freelance journalism possible.”
